Note: Not sure what happened to him after that. There is reference to a John Thomas Close, born around the same time, marrying Margaret Roberts at Caernarvon in 1865. In 1871 he was widowed and living with his mother-in-law Ann Roberts at Llanberis. Prior to 1865 there don't seem to be any references to John Thomas Close, so it may be the same person ... but for the time being we're assuming it isn't. Not sure what happened to him after that. There is reference to a John Thomas Close, born around the same time, marrying Margaret Roberts at Caernarvon in 1865. In 1871 he was widowed and living with his mother-in-law Ann Roberts at Llanberis. Prior to 1865 there don't seem to be any references to John Thomas Close, so it may be the same person ... but for the time being we're assuming it isn't. However, having said that ... his brother Robert seems to have adopted Thomas as a forename in later years, so maybe this was a form of tribute to their father. |
