Note	Between 1775 and 1783, during the American War of Independence, Elnathan Close fought the British in The Sound off the coast of Greenwich. He appears to have attained the rank of Captain.
Note	In 1777 Odell Close was appointed as Lieutenant, and Elnathan Close appointed as Private in Captain Abraham Mead's Company.
