Allen Close, Metropole Hotel; Mrs. Lincoln White, Route 6, and Mrs. Fred Hildred, have returned from Belgrade, Neb., where they attended the funeral of Edwin T. Close, brother of Allen Close and Mrs. White.

Edwin T. Close, 82, a former Black Hawk County resident, died March 5 at Belgrade.

He was born at Kanakee, Ill., Nov. 17, 1854, and moved to Waterloo with his parents when he was a boy. He married Ruth Osman in Waterloo, Dec. 23, 1874, and they resided on a farm near Waterloo. The family moved to St. Edward, Neb., in 1886 and returned to Black Hawk County two years later. They again moved to St. Edward several years later, and remained there until 1900 when they returned to Waterloo. They lived here until they went to Belgrade, Neb., in 1909.
Surviving are the widow and two sons; George of Belgrade, and Albert J., Cedar Rapids, Ia; 11 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, the sister and brother there, and another brother, Will, Los Angeles, Cal.
