Lord Kitchener

John Henry Close (1884) was born in Nottinghamshire, England, the son of John Close (1833) and Eliza Hubbard.

He was drafted into the Nottingham Durham Light Infantry in 1916 served in Boulogne in 1918 and was awarded the British War Medal and Victory Medal after his discharge.
