On the 1891 England Census, James appears to be married to Sarah Ann Ross (born in Coleford, Gloucestershire), and not Sarah Ann Close who was born in Lea, Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire. At this point there are 4 children, the oldest being 9. Also present is Thomas Ross, recorded as the Father-in-law of James. James Herbert and Sarah Ann Ross married at Martley, Worcestershire in 1881. So, Sarah Ann Close appears to have disappeared between 1880, when she witnessed the marriage of her sister Ruth, and 1881. Can't find any obvious Death records.

Disappeared	NOTE: Not sure what happened to her after that. On the 1881 England Census, James appears to be recorded as living with his grandparents at Claines, Worcestershire. Also present is a visitor, Sarah Ann Ross also unmarried, born in Hillersland, Coleford, Gloucestershire. On the 1891 England Census, James appears to be married to Sarah Ann Ross (born in Coleford, Gloucestershire), and not Sarah Ann Close who was born in Lea, Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire. At this point there are 4 children, the oldest being 9. Also present is Thomas Ross, recorded as the Father-in-law of James. James Herbert and Sarah Ann Ross married at Martley, Worcestershire in 1881. So, Sarah Ann Close appears to have disappeared between 1880, when she witnessed the marriage of her sister Ruth, and 1881. Can't find any obvious Death records.
