About 1858 Born at Kirkby Stephen, Westmorland
1861 Census Living with parents and family at Kirkby Stephen, Westmorland
1871 Census Living with parents and family at Kirkby Stephen, Westmorland
1881 Census Patient at the Cumberland and Westmorland Counties Asylum, St Cuthbert without Carleton, Cumberland. Lunatic. Brother Charles Musgrave Close is also present... obviously a family thing... because their uncle Anthony Close was having a bad patch at the same place, at the same time.
1882 Jarvis published a book of poems. He seems to have written this whilst at The Queen's College, Oxford. This may have preceded his breakdown. Whilst at Oxford he was apparently awarded a Holme Exhibition of £45 for 6 years.

Also in 1882, he felt "unwell" and went on a cruise to Suez.

1891 Census Can't find a record for this year... yet. His brother Charles was still in the asylum at this stage but there's no reference to Jarvis.
1899 Died at Carlisle, Cumberland.
