Patient at the Cumberland and Westmorland
Counties Asylum, St Cuthbert without Carleton,
Cumberland. Lunatic. Brother
Charles Musgrave Close is also present... obviously
a family thing... because their uncle
Anthony Close
was having a bad patch at the same place, at the same
time. |

1882 |
Jarvis published a
book of poems. He seems to have written this whilst
at The Queen's College, Oxford. This may have preceded
his breakdown. Whilst at Oxford he was apparently
awarded a Holme Exhibition of £45 for 6 years.
Also in 1882, he felt "unwell" and went
on a cruise to Suez. |

1891 Census |
Can't find a record for this year... yet.
His brother
Charles was still in the asylum at this stage but
there's no reference to Jarvis. |

1899 |
Died at
Carlisle, Cumberland. |
