Eliza was initially married to Thomas Lowdon at Marylebone, London, Middlesex in around 1850. They had 3 children, Mary, John and Ann. Not sure what happened to Thomas (doesn't appear to be a death record), or how Eliza ended up in Westmorland... although their daughter Ann was born in Westmorland and there were Lowdons in that area at the time so they may have been relations of Thomas.

1881 Census Living with husband John and family at Kirkby Stephen, Westmorland. Seems to be a granddaughter, Kate E Stonehouse present who is probably the daughter of either Mary or Ann Lowdon since Elizabeth Close is unmarried at this time.
15 February 1891 Husband John died at Kirkby Stephen, Westmorland aged 74.
