Census 1850 US Fed
Note: Living with wife Elzina at Grant County, Wisconsin. Clergyman.
Birth of a son
Note: Date of birth seems to be 1848 in a number of places (Death Record and Gravestone) but not entirely convinced about this. He doesn't appear on his parents 1850 Census so after 01 June 1850 sounds more reasonable. He always appears with an age which is a multiple of 10 on the various census records, which supports this view. Possible that the other records are anecdotal.
